Principal's Message

principal messageLodge Families,

Welcome to the 2023-24 School Year! What an exciting time to be a Lodge Lion! On Wednesday, August 2nd, Toyota Motor Manufacturing Indiana and Toyota USA Foundation announced that their Driving Possibilities initiative would be supporting schools in EVSC and North Gibson school corporations. Being part of the Toyota Driving Possibilities grant initiative will bring several new layers of support to our school community. With Driving Possibilities, we are committed to setting Lodge apart as a place of HOPE: a Home to Opportunities and Possibilities in Education. We have so much ahead of us this year and I am confident that all students will grow in their learning as we explore their unique talents and provide all of the support needed to be successful.

Our teachers have been working hard, getting ready for students to return. Classrooms have been set-up and decorated to demonstrate the commitment and passion we have for students. Teachers were provided with professional development this summer in reading, math and science as well as technology. We were gifted with a Design and Innovation Studio, equipped with STEM resources and technology, to provide additional opportunities to our students in the highly sought after area of STEM Education. Look for high expectations with scaffolded support for all students in all areas of instruction.

Please welcome our new teachers to Lodge. They bring varied backgrounds and will provide a new set of talents to grow our students. We are also excited for the addition of a new Bilingual Student and Family Engagement Coordinator. This role will support the daily needs of not only our multilingual families but all families who need support navigating their role in our school community. Lodge will also have the support of a Reading Specialist and a High Ability Teacher this year. The EVSC continues to reflect and add support to meet the needs of all of our students.

At Lodge, we have many opportunities for parents to come and learn with their children. Don’t forget to join PTSA and watch for information about Open House, Literacy Night, sporting events as well as all of the other activities available throughout the year. Feel free to come have lunch with your child, or sign up on the EVSC website to be a volunteer. We welcome you to be an active participant in your child’s education.

Thank you for entrusting your children to our care. We are ready to guide them academically, socially, and emotionally in order to help them Aspire, Aim and Achieve.

With LION PRIDE,
Amy Bonenberger
Principal
